Distinguished Eagle Scout:
The oval charm was introduced in the 1980’s and stopped being available in 2007. It did not come in the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award presentation kit. It could be ordered separately. Showcased below are the manufacturer’s hallmarks and the precious metal content of each charm.
I am aware of 7 different Hallmark backings to the Oval Charms. The Hallmark can be found on the back side of the charm. If you have a Hallmark that is not shown, or know of a different variety please contact me. I can either purchase it from you or trade you for a different DESA item.
