Back in 2005, the Detroit Area Council in Michigan had created 250 Eagle Scout Grandparnet Pins. Several surrounding councils received some of these pins from the Detroit Area Council. It has the same look as the Eagle Scout Mother and Father Pins, but it has the word Grandparent. They proposed the idea to the Boy Scouts of America. The BSA decided they would rather use the Eagle Scout Mentor Pin which was created one year earlier in 2004.
The Eagle Scout Grandparent Pin was never an official BSA issued item.
